Valentine's Day shenanigans: What could've been.

[It's Valentine's Day, which means...absolutely nothing to Pommy! Or at least, it didn't until someone explained its purpose and customs to him.

Now Pommy's wandering around Luceti with two boxes full of treats for his two favoritest people in the place. One contains a couple of poppyseed muffins, while the other has oatmeal cookies. He's mainly looking for the intended recipients of these, but you can come talk to him regardless.]

Is Kazooie sure? Pommy's very fast, after all!

[This is actually true. What he's not saying, of course, is how fast he is in comparison to other things. But he is quite light on his pink feet.]

[And Kazooie is light on hers. This could be a race to end all races! Not really.]

Totally sure! It'll be awesome.

[bemyused]

Okay!

[And Pommy gets into ready position, like Olympic runners do. (How he does that when he doesn't even seem to have a body easily dividable into an upper and lower half is a total mystery.)]

Is Kazooie ready?

[talontrot]

[In response, Kazooie crouches low, extending her neck along the ground like an arrow pointing home.]

You bet I am.

[bemyused]

Okay! One...two...three!

[And Pommy's off, scurrying as fast as his pink feet will take him. Which is pretty fast, but Kazooie likely has the advantage in stride.]

[talontrot]

[Kazooie immediately leaps into a sprint - as... much of a sprint as she can go at, anyway - and speeds along at Pommy's side. She's no Sonic the Hedgehog, but her stride does indeed give her a slight advantage.

However, Pommy's weaving little form isn't doing too shabby, either!]

You're pretty fast!

[bemyused]

Yup! Pommy's super-fast, can outrun even rabbits and cheetahs!

[What he can't outrun, however, is a sudden stone in the middle of his path that he doesn't notice due to him boasting to Kazooie. He trips over it and goes flying/rolling along the way, eventually landing in a crumpled marshmallow heap on the ground some distance away.]

Oww...

[talontrot]

[For a few moments, Kazooie keeps sprinting, even knowing Pommy's currently imitating a fallen log. She's grinning with the anticipation and thrill of victory -

... except it's not really much of a victory if the opponent is flopped on the ground...

...

Kazooie slows to a stop eventually, turning around and taking a few almost-cautious steps closer.]

... Uh... you okay?
